Happy with my share of Independence

As it comes out of an intellectual conversation with one of my friends, I am a certified non-patriot now. wishing you a very happy independence day zubin

and i agree we donot need to show we care…. caring comes naturally… try talking crap about your nation to any lame/random guy and see him flaring up…. we are all patriotic even though we may never have witnessed the partition or the freedom struggle.we care because it is hard no to.
    :)

yeah man!!! cudnt agree wid ya more!! m a lot like u in dat aspect…i wudnt go all out on 15th aug announcin m an indian…rather i prefer to feel my independence n share it wid others when d need comes…its not abt how well we can portray our patriotism its abt how much we feel it

    well written mate…

im like that too…i think all of us are entitled to our own way of interpreting independence…
there are people who are passionate, vocal and obvious about it … good for them…

all said and done…the national anthem still brings tears to my eyes…
and i remember…we went to this air show and we saw the suryakirans do their thing…there were also the MIGs and other russian fighter planes…but the suryakirans with their tricolour smoke just choked me and the tears were just non-stop…amazing experience…

    “Nonetheless…I am proud…”
I think being genuinely proud of ones country means much more than all that patriotic crap of sms & more.

P.S. – Looking good Zubin :) Really good!

Freedom is an illusion we are born in to.
Hence celebrating independence day is redundant.

    my 2 paise.

    @Preeti:
    Thanks..
Well I live just 2 Kms away from the Hindon Air Base…Those Suryakirans are all over our heads days before the Republic day parade(in preparation)..In fact..after they pass over the parade they pass over us within 2-3 minutes. Minus the Tri-color smoke though!! I have this habit of watching them on T.V and then going outside and waiting for them to pass over..EVERY TIME..! :)
    Me…?Looking good…? Gosh..thanks.. :)

Nah..not completely redundant, but for most part..YES, it IS an illusion.
